Scientology Volunteer Ministers

European Coordination Center of the Scientology Volunteer Ministers formed in Brussels to coordinate the activities of more than 2,000 volunteers and to advocate volunteerism in the capital of Europe

The Scientology Volunteer Ministers is such a good program because anyone of any faith can join and learn skills they can use to help their friends and family. But where these skills really come into their own is at times of disaster, and that is what these volunteers are best known for.

Here's an article on the formation of the new foundation: European Coordination Center of the Scientology Volunteer Ministers

And an article by the President of the Church of Scienotology Texas on her thoughts about this group:

Here's a great photo of Tom Cruise and an excerpt from a terrific story, the rest of which you can read here: Tom Cruise Opens Rescue Workers Detox Clinic

"Tom Cruise, the well-known actor, has consistently pledged his support to the many rescue workers who are suffering the effects of the toxic assault on the nervous system, and lungs associated with the cleanup of Ground Zero as a result of the aftermath of the terrorist attack on September 11 on the World Trade Center.

"Cruise, working with many of the doctors involved in the project, and along with firefigher Joe Higgins, opened a facility in New York that utilizes one of the only treatments that has had a positive effect on these victims that is helping to restore them to their former lifestyle. It is a treatment devised by L. Ron Hubbard and described in the book Clear Body, Clear Mind. The treatment consists of a medically monitored regimen of exercise, sauna sweat-out, vitamins and minerals, and heavy doses of Niacin, to cleanse the body of toxic residues and a heart healthy diet."

The other day I tried to book a hotel room by phone. I called a 1-800 number and ran headlong, on a very personal level, into the problem most businesses face today. The man I spoke with just couldn't get my name (a pretty simple and common one) and kept slaughtering it (after he asked me to repeate it 3 times first). They he told me he couldn't find the kind of room I wanted. He said he found something else and quoted me a price. I thanked him and said I'd let him know. They he tried to muscle me into booking now, with threats that if I waited and called back the room would probably be booked. Very unpleasant.

(I did call back the next day, spoke to a real person, found the room I wanted was, in fact, available and the price Mr. what's-your-name quoted was totally off).

I don't run a business myself, but I know this kind of problem is widespread in today's marketplace.

That, coupled with the anti-work ethic of the early 21st Century (and if you try to get someone to work you are guilty of abusing your employees?...), let alone "creative financing" à la Enron (and surely many others), and stir in a bit of "everyone does it" à la Martha Stewart, and is it any wonder our dollar buys less and continues its slide against the Euro?

I recently read Dianetics the Evolution of a Science again. I had read it several years ago.

I got something out of it that I didn't expect to get.

Have you even run into a situation where there is a lot of confusion and you are embroiled in the confusion to such an extent that you can't easily resolve it?
Well, one of the things I got from this book was a technique for penetrating and setting aside a confusion like this.

A little bonus!

Every June, for the past 16 years, Scientologists from around the world have gathered at the Scientology religious retreat aboard a ship called the Freewinds to commemorate the maiden voyage of the ship and a new era of expansion for the Church. (this is not to be confused with the Freewinds Yacht Charter which is a different ship)

Here's a photograph of the Freewindsin its home port of Willemstad, Curacao:
There is a series of speeches and presentations, entertainment and fun and these are videoed and shared with all Scientology churches and many church missions, who in turn invite all the Scientologists from their areas to attend. This way the entire international community of Scientologists get to find out the latest news about the church, its community and social reform activities, and plans for the future.

I usually attend these events in Los Angeles. All the Scientology churches in the LA area attend and contribute to the success of the events that are held throughout the month of July.

These churches include:

Church of Scientology of Los Angeles
The Advanced Organization of Los Angeles
The American Saint Hill Organization (ASHO Day and ASHO Foundation)
Church of Scientology of Orange County
Church of Scientology of Pasadena
Church of Scientology of the Valley

Here's some more information on Dianetics.

Vital Statistics:

Published - May 9th 1950

Copies sold - over 20,000,000

Distributed in - 150 countries

in - 53 lanuages

Success stories:

"Before Dianetics I never knew what a Reactive Mind was. I didn't know there was an enemy there and that the enemy was in my mind, right here. You know, I was always looking for it outside in other people, you know, my older brother, my wife, my parents, the world and it wasn't there, you know it was always inside of me."

"I noticed that my peripheral vision was wider and everything was just sort of bright, and crisp, and clear. And I was like 'Wow that's pretty neat.' And I looked and I said 'Wait a minute' and I could read signs quite a bit of distance away. And I'm near sighted. So I had gained about an extra seventy-feet, seventy-five feet of clear sight. So I spent the next ten minutes just looking around reading signs as far away as I could."

"I had so much energy and it was like I could just handle anything. Just like 'Bring it on!' you know? 'Bring it at me. I can handle it.'"
