The Church of Scientology Human Rights Office was opened in Belgium last week.
Scientology has been involved in human rights activities for many years, and this new office in Brussels makes it possible to effect the most positive change possible in this field.
I love this one booklet they publish, which you can download and reprint. It is called Youth for Human Rights and it explains the various clauses of the Universal Declaration for Human Rights in very simple terms, so kids can learn their basic rights. It's also been translated into many languages. And here is the site for a group that works with youth, using this booklet. The group is called Youth for Human Rights Int'l .

I just read about aScientology Volunteer Minister who saved the life of a woman badly injured in a traffic accident.
There are many heros who do that you never hear about. I'm glad this woman received an award for what she did.

Two months ago the Grand Opening of Applied Scholastics campus in Spanish Lake, Mo. I was able to be there. What a treat that was. Iliteracy may be the most basic and important problem to handle in the world today, because when people can't learn they can't change conditions in their lives, and when they can, they are really empowered. Applied scholastics uses the study technology developed by humanitarian, L. Ron Hubbard . It was really inspiring to hear people speaking about how they have improved things in their communities and countries through the application of this technology.

The Battlefield Enquirer carries this story on the front page today:
Kenneth M. Bobinac, 31, was arrested after he allegedly tried to rob the TCF Bank at 290 E. Columbia Ave. just before 8 p.m. Tuesday.
He was apprehended by three women who tripped and then tackled him as he tried to escape.
"If we all did something, the world would be a different place," said Margarite Davis, 44, of Battle Creek. She and her daughter, Juana Salamanca, 25, of Battle Creek, and the branch manager, Susan Puyear, 60, of Marshall, are credited with apprehending Bobinac.
"My daughter and I just looked at each other," Davis said Wednesday. "We have very few seconds to plan it. The three of us converged on the guy."
Margarite Davis is the Executive Director of the Church of Scientology of Battle Creek and her daughter, the executive secretary at the church.
She went on to say that she and her daughter have dealt with people with problems and were not really afraid of the man.

There are so many heros around us, and so many good folks. I'm sick of reading newspapers and magazines and watching news on TV that just gives what's bad.
So this is a blog dedicated to good people everywhere.
And that's what I am going to feature here.
Here's an example.
I really respect film personalities who have integrity and chose films that are uplifting and create a good model for people watching them.
One person like that is Tom Hanks. No matter what he's in, it's great. I never have to worry whether I'll walk out of a film bumbed out if he's in it. I was kind of worried about him when he came out with "Catch Me if you Can" last year. Thought it was going to be a downer. Didn't want to see it. Then someone had the video and I had nothing else to do, so I wathced it and it was GREAT.
Another person who's like that is Spielberg. His films are always terrific. He has such high standards in his films. I've never been disappointed in one of them. I was so happy when he was honored at the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics, where he represented "the Arts" in the opening ceremonies. He totally earned that honor.
These are two guys who just don't compromise their personal integrity.
I think anyone would be happier if they just applied that as a standard.
Here's a great quote by L. Ron Hubbard about personal integrity I try to follow this as much as possible in life.
I'm happy to be sharing this with you!
