The Battlefield Enquirer carries this story on the front page today:
Kenneth M. Bobinac, 31, was arrested after he allegedly tried to rob the TCF Bank at 290 E. Columbia Ave. just before 8 p.m. Tuesday.
He was apprehended by three women who tripped and then tackled him as he tried to escape.
"If we all did something, the world would be a different place," said Margarite Davis, 44, of Battle Creek. She and her daughter, Juana Salamanca, 25, of Battle Creek, and the branch manager, Susan Puyear, 60, of Marshall, are credited with apprehending Bobinac.
"My daughter and I just looked at each other," Davis said Wednesday. "We have very few seconds to plan it. The three of us converged on the guy."
Margarite Davis is the Executive Director of the Church of Scientology of Battle Creek and her daughter, the executive secretary at the church.
She went on to say that she and her daughter have dealt with people with problems and were not really afraid of the man.
