Here's a miracle story, from the Volunteer Ministers in Indonesia.

Here's a photo of a man whose arm was so severely broken, doctors had very little hope of saving it and his own life was at risk. The man in the yellow shirt is a volunteer minister giving him an "Assist" to help him recover from the injury. Posted by Hello

Here's the same man again, 45 minutes later. It was the first time he smiled since he was hit by the tsunami. Posted by Hello

Our volunteer ministers are training family members, nursing staff and anyone else who wants to help. Assists are very easy to learn. There is even a chapter in the Scientology Handbook (which is online) that trains a person on how to give assists.

If you want to help us, e-mail vm@volunteerminister.org and let them know there whether you want to join our team in India, Thailand, Sri Lanka or Indonesia, or donate money to send more volunteers over and support the volunteers who are here.

Blogging for the Scientology Volunteer Ministers in South-East Asia

I've been blogging, on and off, in this blog for the past two years or so.

But I suddenly have a real reason to blog and share my news.

I have friends in Thailand, Indonesia, India and Sri Lanka who are working to help the people most severely affected by the tsunamis of December 26, 2004. They don't always have access to the Internet (or to food, water, a place to sleep...) but they have been sending stories and photos to their friends whenever they have been able to do so, and so I'm opening my blog to them, and/or will post on their behalf when they are unable to do so.

I don't know how long they will be needed there, but as long as they are there, this blog is theirs.

Come back often. I'll have new news about them -- probably every day.

There isn't much GOOD news to come out of a disaster that will probably end up having killed over half a million men, women and children, but the stories of heroism, hope, friendship and survival that come out of it are the best possible news, and confirm, once more, my firm belief in the goodness of my fellow man and woman.

Here's to all of the heros who are out there, helping people get their lives back together again!

Tsunami News - Scientology Volunteer Ministers Help in South-East Asia

I can't go to help, personally, but many people I know have left for South-East Asia to help in the aftermath of the tsunamis, so I thought the least I could do would be to make it possible for them to post about what they are experiencing and what they are doing.

There is so much good news coming out of the Volunteer Ministers relief efforts in India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Thailand.

People get hit with all the bad news. And there is so very much tragedy from this disaster. But there is good news -- lives saved, miracle recoveries -- and it's good to keep that in mind.

Here's the Scientology Tsunami Relier Team in India. It is comprised of Scientologists Volunteer Ministers including a team of Budhhist monks who have learned and use Scientology techniques to help victims. Posted by Hello
