Scientologists who are working to inform people of the dangers of drugs are making a difference.

According to the Scientology news site:

"In the last decade, as part of their “Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life” campaign, Scientology churches worldwide have printed and distributed more than 8 million informational brochures laying out the facts about drugs. The educational effort has also included 224,220 drug awareness billboards and posters, 45 million fliers, 89,000 public awareness events, and 10,200 newspaper and television stories promoting drug-free living."

The Scientology Anti Drug site has information on the most frequently abused drugs, written so that teens can understand it.

While Scientologists are working to decrease the amount of drug use, there is also a campaign going on internationally called "harm reduction," the basic premise of which is that we can't do anything to keep kids off drugs. It pushes that" since we can't do anything effective to help people once they are addicted," (which is false) the only humane thing to do is to make it safer to be a drug addict.

This just simply is not true. It is apathetic and just feeds the PR line that our kids are getting from movies, TV and their peers that it's really okay to do drugs.

It is NOT.

If you want to help your child find out the truth about drugs, have them look through the fact sheets on that web site.
