Hard to Talk about Good News Today

It is hard to find anything good to post on a day when 1000 innocent Iraquis jumped to their death for fear of being killed by a suicide bomber.

As an American I am not proud of how my country has handled this entire situation -- the war-that-wasn't-a-war (because Congress never declared it so prisoners of ____ aren't covered by international treaties that protect prisoners of war), going in without the agreement of the United Nations, the fact that weapons of mass destruction were never found, that a year and a half later, the deaths still mount and now another 1000 innocent people are dead.

At a recent international Scientology event, Mr. David Miscavige pointed out the L. Ron Hubbard once said "Ideas not battles mark the foward progress of mankind. Individuals, and not masses, form the culture of the race."

We can't "win" in Iraq or anywhere through force. It is time we really look into the human rights issues that underly the dissent in Iraq and address them, removing the fuel that feeds terrorism.

Scientology Volunteer Ministers in Action

On May 11th 2005 a National Tsunami Memorial Service was held at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London. Among those attending were Scientology Volunteer Ministers who had gone to India to aide in the tsunami disaster relief this winter. They had returned home, gratified that they had been able to help but well aware of the tremendous need in India for the effective solutions Volunteer Ministers offer.

So in late May, UK Scientology Volunteer Minister representatives, Lady Margaret McNair and Graeme Wilson led a team to Kolkata, to launch a year-long Scientology Volunteer Ministers Goodwill Tour to India. Their message—Something CAN Be Done About It. The tour will cover 6,114-km and visit 13 Indian cities and everywhere they go there will be exhibits and seminars to train local citizens in the skills contained in The Scientology Handbook. 19 booklets, each covering a separate chapter of the Scientology Handbook, have been translated into Bengali. Scientology Effective Solutions

I've been reading a series of booklets called "Scientology Effective Solutions" and I have to say I'm impressed. There are so many good programs being run by Scientology churches around the world. It really makes me proud to be a part of the Scientology religious movement.

The Scientology Handbook

There is a brilliant book, published by Bridge Publications in the US and Western Hemisphere and New Era Publications in the rest of the world.

The reason this is such a special book is that anyone can pick it up, flip to the chapter that relates to what they want to improve in their lives and learn really simple techniques that work, and help people.

There is a motto that our Scientology Volunteer Ministers subscribe to. That is "Something CAN be done about it." The only reason we can say that is that Scientology really gives us the tools to be able to change things for the better.

But the trick is you need to find out for yourself.

The good think is that this book is online.

Scientology Volunteer Ministers Goodwill Tour Opens in Grand Style in Brazil

This press release tells about the opening of the Volunteer Ministers Goodwill Tour in Brazil a few weeks ago.

These goodwill tours are bringing Scientology churches or missions, and training people in very simple Scientology techniques by which they can better their lives.

It is so gratifying to see the kind of help this provides to people, one person at a time.

That's what I love most about Scientology - having the skill to really be able to help someone.

It's very excitTo the music of a military police band and a Brazilian dancing ensemble, and a welcome from 400 uniformed police and fire fighters, the Scientology Volunteer Ministers (VMs) Goodwill Tour opened its doors Saturday in Salvador, capital of the Brazilian state of Bahai, with a Catholic priest joining representatives from the Churches of Scientology in South America, to cut the ribbon on the VM’s distinctive yellow tent.

The Senior Commander of the military police for the state of Bahai told the cheering crowd that he intends to train his military personnel in Volunteer Minister techniques. The Grand Opening, attended by hundreds of guests, marked an enthusiastic start to the VM’s Goodwill Tour. Father Sadoc, a priest from the Catholic Church welcomed the Scientology Volunteer Ministers to Brazil, adding that God accepts everything that is good for people. “It is a not a matter of religious differences, it is a matter of help,” emphasized Father Sadoc, who said that he was extremely pleased with the knowledge the VM Tour will bring to his country.

Dr. Urbano Alonso Galan of the Gregorian University and
Saint Bonaventure Pontifical Faculty, Rome wrote an interesting study on Scientology in which he stated:
