As usual, I logged on today and saw nothing but crime, terror and destruction in the news.

Every such act of violence is a violation of someone's or many people's human rights.

So in my own personal retaliation I thought I would post about human rights again.

Two thoughts for the day on this subject:

From the Scientology Handbook chapter on something called "the Third Party Law"

"The law would seem to be:

A THIRD PARTY MUST BE PRESENT AND UNKNOWN IN EVERY QUARREL FOR A CONFLICT TO EXIST.
or
FOR A QUARREL TO OCCUR, AN UNKNOWN THIRD PARTY MUST BE ACTIVE IN PRODUCING IT BETWEEN TWO POTENTIAL OPPONENTS.
or
WHILE IT IS COMMONLY BELIEVED TO TAKE TWO TO MAKE A FIGHT, A THIRD PARTY MUST EXIST AND MUST DEVELOP IT FOR ACTUAL CONFLICT TO OCCUR."

An who do you suppose stands to profit most by keeping vaste portions of the world population in conflict with one another? Who profits from ethnic wars? civil wars? international wars?....

There are some groups that are working to take down the prejudices third parties exploit in their work to foment conflicts.

One such group is the Institute on Religion and Public Policy

There are also many groups who work to safeguard human rights, such as the Human Rights Watch
and Amnesty International

People who dedicate their lives to helping others deserve our support.

My church has programs to help people learn their human rights, and gain more understanding of one another. We have published booklets for adults and youth to educate them on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. If this document were to be followed there could be no war, no racism, no crime.

The Human Rights Directory of the Church of Scientology International has worked for years to expose intolerance
and foster understanding. She has coordinated yearly human rights marathons in various nations since 1997. These are really ultra-marathons, where runners have crossed most of Europe promoting human rights in every town they entered. Ms. Goodman also coined the word "multathalon" which is an ultra-marathon with the addition of any other sport that the participants want to include, such as cycling, roller blading, horseback riding and sailing.

This year she has assisted The International Foundation for Human Rights and Tolerance and their outreach group, Youth for Human Rights International in their work to make the Universal Declaration of Human Rights known to children around the world.

If we educate youth on human rights and the urgent need to uphold and enforce them, this generation will help us all live in peace.
